Translator Selection in brief

Documented translator selection, the storing of translator data and feedback on work completed, along with on-going training and encouraging continuing professional development, ensure the high professional standard of both internal and external translators and revisers. Translators and revisers are selected based on their formal academic/vocational qualifications and professional experience. As a guideline, recommendations from the translation standard BS EN 15038 are used, whereby the necessary translating, linguistic, textual, research, cultural and technical competences can be achieved through one or more of the following:

Documented translation workflows, excellent technical and linguistic resources and constant support from project managers and linguistically qualified peers ensure that translators and revisers can carry out their tasks to the best of their ability.

 

Client Feedback

Client feedback is always taken seriously and necessary action to rectify any problems in delivered translation work is taken immediately. Any complaints from clients are dealt with promptly and efficiently according to STP’s client complaints procedure. An annual client satisfaction survey is conducted among key clients, and all suggested areas of improvement are considered and changes implemented as far as possible.

 

 

Bureau Veritas has awarded STP certification to the BS EN 15038 translation services standard which sets out the requirements for the provision of quality services by translation service providers. To meet the requirements of the standard and our own quality objectives, STP operates a quality management system that consists of documented procedures for the successful planning, realisation and monitoring of all translation projects, as well as detailed project management and linguist selection procedures.
